Our Thought of the day page is where we put those moments of insight, revelation, and clarity that appear to come from the subconscious, in a moment of thought crystallisation. I note them down and post them on this page to help me remember them, and for you to enjoy. I get a lot of these moments, and it seems such a shame to allow them to go to waste, so here they are, all in one place. Please share the page with your friends and family, if you find it of value, and keep checking back as the page will be updated regularly, with new content.

STOP JUDGING, START LISTENING: When you’re rigidly sticking to your guns, holding tightly to your beliefs, you risk closing yourself off to any alternative ideas. Stop judging, open your mind and start listening, you might just learn something.

Marketing
If you find it hard to get your head around personal BRANDING, think of it as your reputation. BRAND = REPUTATION
Lessons all around us
Lessons all around us: Jurassic World movie scene in which the two kids are seen jumping off a high cliff because a large, hungry dinosaur is running towards them –> because the fear of what will happen if they don’t jump is greater than their fear of jumping. So it is in real life, for motivation to move you, you’ve got to fear not taking action, more than taking action. Find a big enough reason!
Weaknesses and strengths
You can work your weaknesses and develop them into strengths through practice or you can double down on your strengths and punt your weaknesses. The great thing is you get to decide.
“Coping excuses” are designed to reduce cognitive dissonance, and allow us to accept not following through, or taking action or to procrastinate because of fear. In reality this psychological strategy provides an opportunity not to do what is required to achieve important, possible life changing goals. Hacking these coping excuses is key to getting results.
The destination is not as important as the journey, because the journey is what you have to do as part of your day to day activities, and we’re wired for instant gratification.
Stop focusing on achieving HAPPINESS, because JOY is where it’s at…
Success
I think that success is a mix of science and art. There are processes that can be followed: do this, don’t do that. But effective “execution” often comes down to talent, timing and skill, oh and luck, which is where the “art” comes into play.
This moment
“Every moment is an opportunity to start over. We choose a new day, new month, new year to start afresh, but each new moment is the only moment that will ever exist, so take it now rather than later..”
Thoughts
“THOUGHT controls behaviour and emotion. It is what our beliefs, values and principles are made of, nothing but thoughts. When you consider most thoughts are made up of inferences and assumptions, with very little evidence based facts behind them, you realise the damage poor quality input can do.”
Decision Making
“Having and making CHOICES is an amazing aspect of life. One single choice can change the entire direction of your life. So it’s vital you don’t make important decisions when under pressure, or in an emotional state. Having said that many big consequences can come from seemingly unimportant decisions and choices.”
Goal Setting
Goal setting: Go the way that pulls you towards it & that compels you to do it.
Spirituality
We interact with life through this moment, past and future are nothing more than thought constructed abstractions made into stories.
We think thoughts will lead us to salvation, but if we identify with them, they lead us to pain and suffering
Stop THINKING, start BEING.
Embrace Change
“Why we resist change – CHANGE = UNCERTAINTY = RISK = LOSS. In reality it also provides OPPORTUNITY. But we fear LOSS more than we value gain. So we focus on that.”
“If you insist on holding onto EXPECTATIONS, then expect the future to bring CHANGE, and you won’t be disappointed.”
Shift Perspective
“Life gives you what you take from it.” . more info here
Take Action
“TAKING ACTION not only moves you in a particular direction, it is the source of TRUE KNOWLEDGE through EXPERIENCE and is the only way to develop TALENT and SKILL. There really is no substitute, imagine learning to ride a bike by only reading a book.”
“KNOW what to do, WANT to do it more than anything, then just DO it. DOING is easy if the other two things are in place first.”
Acquire Knowledge
“We are all ignorant. It’s what you do about it that counts. I wish more people felt comfortable asking questions, the world would be a better place if they did. After all, division is built from ignorance.”
Shift Perspective
“CHANGE brings with it OPPORTUNITIES, stop focusing on the RISKS and look for the CHANCES.”
Motivation
“All action and inaction is driven by MOTIVATION, which is made up of two opposing forces. One that wants us to be more, to have more, to be better. The other wants to keep us safe, psychologically and physically. They fight over everything we set out to do, and each battle can have only one winner.”
“If you love what you do, really love it, then practice doesn’t feel like something you have to do to get better. Practice is just DOING the thing you love to do. You are not pushed to do it, you’re pulled. You can’t help yourself. If you’re not doing it, you’re thinking about it. Find something like this and you’re home, psychologically.”
Intent
“Make sure your INTENT is honourable and don’t use goodness/charity as a TACTIC to drive sales.”
Take Responsibility
“MAKE THINGS HAPPEN by DOING WHAT MATTERS.”
“There are winners and losers in every situation. Instead of complaining and blaming, make sure you’re mentally and emotionally positioned to WIN. Be a PREDATOR of CHANCE rather than a VICTIM of CIRCUMSTANCE.”
“BLAMING and COMPLAINING are excuses not to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. They are COPING STRATEGIES for failure, they are a CHOICE to play the role of victim. Without them you have the power you need to TAKE ACTION and SUCCEED.”
Mankind’s craziness
“Consider these points and if you agree with them, you realise how crazy mankind is…
- Whatever you fight, you strengthen,
- Whatever you resist, persists,
- You cure addiction by providing support and human bonding, not by punishment,
- Most people are completely preoccupied by the past and future, when the only time that exists is, the present.”
Be Humble
“Share what you know to help others but never think you are better than another, cause they will know what you don’t.”
